Dear Friends,

Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp opened to great acclaim this fall with an amazing turnout of more than 2000 visitors, both local and from all across the globe, that participated in the Opening Weekend Celebrations. The reviews have been pouring in, from the New York Times and national art journals, to New Orleans’ own Advocate and Nola.com. The press coverage demonstrates the important role Prospect New Orleans plays in bringing top notch international contemporary art to our city, helping promote New Orleans as an important creative hub, while bolstering our creative economy.

Prospect New Orleans transforms the city every three years. With 73 local, national and international artists presented in more than 17 different sites and venues, Prospect.4 has raised the bar again as the largest arts event in the City, as well as one of the largest contemporary art exhibitions in the nation. The impact is felt through the cultural tourism it generates, while adding the celebration of the visual arts to New Orleans’ unique culture of music, food, and rich history of cultural diversity.

Although national foundation support provides for the largest share, direct charitable contributions from individuals are crucial to the success of Prospect New Orleans. As the year comes to a close, please consider Prospect New Orleans for your end of year giving.

Your support also helps create and further the programs that run each Prospect, including our education initiatives.  Our new partnerships with organizations such as the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) and the Bard Early College Program, are helping introduce new generations to the importance and power of art in our society.  All during P.4 we are hosting artist talks, developing meaningful kids and teen outreach programs with our venue partners CACNO, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and more.

Through our citywide partnerships and the ability to bring exceptional national and international art to New Orleans, Prospect New Orleans has been at the forefront of establishing the city as a destination for contemporary art. We thank you for your continued support in this important endeavor and wish you,

Happy Holidays on behalf of the staff and board of Prospect New Orleans!
