Prospect New Orleans Announces Challenge Grant for P.3
Prospect New Orleans receives $200,000 grant to be matched by
Dollar-for-Dollar Fundraising Campaign
NEW ORLEANS – March 10, 2014 – Today, Prospect New Orleans announced a major fundraising campaign supported by a $200,000 matching grant from a national foundation that wishes to remain anonymous. The $200,000 grant challenges Prospect’s Board and Staff to raise an additional $200,000 by June 30, 2014.
“We are so pleased that this particular foundation believes in our organization and its ability to gain new patrons, individuals and organizations in support of Prospect.3: Notes for Now, the third edition of Prospect New Orleans. The support of our donors will allow us to not only bring international contemporary art to New Orleans, but bring art enthusiasts to the city as well,” said Brooke Davis Anderson, Executive Director of Prospect New Orleans. “Fundraising efforts for P.3 have been successful, and this generous matching grant highlights that success while encouraging even greater support from one and all.”
Prospect.3: Notes for Now will open on October 25, 2014 in New Orleans. Franklin Sirmans, Department Head and Curator of Contemporary Art at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), is serving as the Artistic Director and will curate the project.
“The Board of Trustees of Prospect New Orleans is delighted to have the support of a highly regarded national foundation. The $200k challenge grant gives us an opportunity to leverage this support by matching an additional $200,000 or more,” said Susan Brennan, Prospect New Orleans’ Board Chairperson. “Our efforts continue to encompass the community, while playing a major role in the impact that the arts can have in celebrating New Orleans. We’re thrilled to attract considerable cultural tourism to the city and positively impact our local economy.”
