AMY SILLMAN lives and works in New York.
Amy Sillman’s work is highly intuitive; her rich, colorful paintings flow with a stream of conscious expression, detailing visions of dream-like impressions. In her canvases, painting and drawing work hand in hand to create narratives that are playful yet complex, and which always address the semiotics of painterly language itself.
Sillman has participated in group exhibitions most recently in West Palm Beach, FL; at the Ulrich Museum of Art of Wichita, KS; at the Whitney Biennial (2004); and the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY, among others. She is currently preparing a retrospective for the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.
Sillman is represented by Sikkema Jenkins & Co. in New York.
