MIGUEL PALMA (b. 1964, Lisbon, Portugal) lives and works in Sintra, Portugal.
Miguel Palma is concerned with the grand themes that have been treated throughout history. The absurdity of war, natural disasters, the vanity and selfish thinking of generations, are all recurring themes that Palma translates with irony and humor, into improbable architectures or machines, constructed from a variety of media.
Palma has had solo exhibitions at the Culturgest, Lisbon, and Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves, Portugal. He has participated in group exhibitions at Witte de With, Rotterdam; Centro Cultural de Belem, Portugal; and Caixa Foundation, Barcelona, among others.
