DAVE MCKENZIE (b. 1977, Kingston, Jamaica) lives and works in New York.

Dave McKenzie’s videos, sculptures and installations are motivated by the desire to make mundane objects and gestures relevant. Through his art, McKenzie seeks to understand his place in the world, and potentially change that place. In his videos, the artist explores the communication and possibility of constructing a viable identity.

McKenzie’s work has been included in exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY (2004); the Sculpture Center, Long Island City, NY (2003); Contemporary Art Center, Vilnius, Lithuania (2003); and Queens Museum of Art, NY (2002). Recent solo exhibitions include; All Together Now, at Performa 07 and The Studio Museum in Harlem, New York (2007); and Momentum 8: Dave McKenzie, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston.
