JACQUELINE HUMPHRIES (b. 1960, New Orleans, LA) lives and works in New York.

Jacqueline Humphries’ work explores abstraction, posing painting as an active site for the channeling of contemporary visual issues. She has expanded on the possibilities of abstract art in a variety of media, including digital drawings, black light paintings, as well as video.

Humphries has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at venues including Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, MA; the Nagoya Museum, Japan; Opelousas Museum of Art, Los Angeles; and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. Among her most recent shows is Affinities: Painting in Abstraction at CCS Bard Hessel Museum, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.

Humphries is represented by Greene Naftali Gallery in New York.
