ARTURO HERRERA (b. 1959, Caracas, Venezuela) lives and works in New York and Berlin.

Arturo Herrera works in a diverse array of media including collage, works on paper, sculpture, photography, and wall hangings. Using found images, abstract shapes, and partially obscured elements that he often juxtaposes in stark contrast to one another, the artist seems to recreate the fragmented workings of our perception.

Herrera’s work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout the U.S. and Europe including the Whitney Biennial (2002); The Aldrich Museum, Ridgefield, CT; The Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and The Renaissance Society, Chicago.

Herrera is represented by Sikkema Jenkins & Co. in New York.
