TONY FITZPATRICK (b. 1958, Chicago, IL) lives and works in Chicago.
Tony Fitzpatrick is a painter, poet, actor, and prolific artist whose work is extensively collected. His work has appeared on album covers, he has made a living as a radio personality, and has worked on film, stage and television, appearing in fifteen major motion pictures. He has published several books, including three collections of art and poetry. His characteristic collage paintings begin with a drawing or painting to which he incorporates collage elements from a vast collection of matchbook covers, ticket stubs, and other memorabilia.
Fitzpatrick’s work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the National Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, PA.
