JOHN BARNES, JR. (b. Bogalusa, LA) lives and works in New Orleans.
John Barnes, Jr. has lived and worked in New Orleans for nine years, where he has developed bodies of work within the visual language of painted assemblage, primarily constructed from wood and mixed media.
Barnes has exhibited extensively throughout the southern U.S. including in New Orleans; Mobile, AL; Waco, TX; and Memphis TN. He is Department Chair of Visual Arts at Dillard University in New Orleans, where he works to continually enhance the curriculum, and generate a dynamic visiting artist lecture series for the university.
